Initial board review for clinicians on wilderness, search and rescue and expedition teams. We work the WP-C content outline: care in remote, wilderness and austere settings using improvised means and specialized equipment, environmental emergencies, prolonged field care and wilderness operations. The IBSC exam is 135 items (110 scored) in 2.5 hours, and the certification is valid for four years. The hybrid option adds an in-person skills day at our training center. The IBSC exam fee is not included. Our IBSC Approved Review Course application is pending, so this course is exam preparation only.

No. You apply for the WP-C exam and pay IBSC directly. IBSC lists the fee at $285 for affiliate members and $385 for non-members on its 2026 fee schedule. IBSC sets eligibility and testing options, and we do not administer or score IBSC exams.
Yes, on the hybrid option: two live remote class days plus one in-person skills day in the simulation lab at our training center. IBSC exams are knowledge exams with no skills station, so the skills day is for your practice, not an IBSC requirement.
Not toward the approved review course requirement. When you recertify WP-C by continuing education, IBSC requires 16 of your hours to come from a course on its approved review list. Our IBSC Approved Review Course application is pending, and until IBSC lists us this course does not meet that requirement. Check with IBSC before counting any of our hours toward recertification.
Open a course, pick a session and select Reserve Seat, then pay on our secure payment page by card or bank account (ACH). Paying online adds a processing fee, and you see the exact total before you pay. Your seat is confirmed as soon as the payment goes through. To pay by card over the phone or an agency purchase order instead, reserve your seat, then contact us. If no date works for you, request one.
Cancellation and reschedule terms depend on the course and are shown before you reserve. Contact us as early as you can and we will help you move to another date when seats are open.
